Abstract:
The high rotating-speed friction stir welding(HR-FSW) method was used to perform a butt test on 1mm thick6061-T6 aluminum alloy sheet. The effect of welding speed on axial force and the mechanical properties of the joint were studied. The test results show that the welding speed plays a decisive role on the axial force, and the welding axial force increases with the increase of the welding speed. When the axial force is 0.9-1kN, the welding speed is 200-300 mm·min
-1,the microstructure of the welded joint is uniformly distributed and the mechanical properties are good. Under the spindle speed of 10000 r·min
-1, welding speed of 300 mm·min
-1, shoulder pressure of 0.06 mm, the best welding seam can be obtained, the welding seam structure is uniform, the appearance is beautiful, there are no welding defects, and its tensile strength reaches 201.92 MPa, about 70% of the base material.
