Abstract:
Taking PA6 nylon polymer as the upper plate, 6061-T6 Al alloy as the lower plate, the lap joining between6061-T6 aluminum alloy and PA6 polymer was carried out by stationary shoulder friction stir welding(SSFSW), and it was compared with the conventional friction stir welding(FSW) process. The results show that compared with the conventional FSW process, the joint obtained by the SSFSW has smooth surface, no obvious arc pattern and hole defects. Under the conventional FSW process, there are obvious hole defects in the weld due to material overflow to the weld surface, while the internal forming of the joint is good under the SSFSW process, and no obvious hole defect is found. This is because the static shoulder has the effect of heat absoption, rolling with welding and sealing. The shear tensile perfomance of the SSFSW joint is higher.
