Abstract:
Galvanized steel sheet was weleded by using pulse welding method and cold metal transition(CMT)welding method, respectively. There were no blowhole and spatter defects during the welding process, but there were still visible zinc layer burning loss, and the appearance of weld was not good. The observation on the microstructure shows that the heat-affected zone is ferrite and bainitic structure. With the distance from the weld zone increasing, the bainitic structure decreases, the feerite structure increases, which leads to the decrease of hardness. The hardness of the joint welded by CMT method is generally higher than that of the joint welded by pulse welding method. After two weeks of salt spray test, serious corrosion occurs at the weld toe of the both welded joints, and the cross section observation shows that the corrosion of the joint welded by CMT method is deeper.
