Abstract:
Camshaft is the core moving part of marine engine, and its surface hardness and dimensional accuracy have great influence on diesel engine quality and life. Using heat treatment simulation software DANTE, the heat treatment quenching process of camshaft of 16NC6 carburized steel was simulated. The hardness distribution of axial and radial deformation of the camshaft after quenching were studied. The results indicate that the hardness distribution and radial deformation cause camshaft bending, while axial deformation causes elongation. After production verification, the simulation results are consistent with the actual production, and the simulation and prediction results can provide references for optimizing the process.
