Abstract: Lightweight is one of the important development directions of automotive technology, hot stamping technology is an effective means to achieve lightweight body, and hot forming door ring is the popular advanced technology. The characteristics of hot forming door ring were discussed firstly, and the reasons affecting the application of hot forming door ring were analyzed synthetically from three factors of performance, mass and cost. New ideas for reducing the cost, such as reasonable arrangement of weld line combined with patch technology were put forward. It is conducive to the popularization and application of the technology.
