Abstract:
The welding procedure of the two hot forging die repair flux-cored welding wires of RMD756 and HX2048G, and the composition, structure and mechanical properties of the deposited metals were stuedied comparatively. The results show that when the welding parameters are voltage of 23.2 V, currenct of 260 A and wire feeding speed of 5.6 m/min, the weld formation is good. The alloy elements of the deposited metals with the two welding wires are complex and quite different from the die steel composition, both of them show the characteristics of low carbon content and high chromium content. The tensile strengths of RMD756 and HX2048G deposited metals at room temperature are above 1000 MPa, and the tensile strengths at 550℃are about 800 MPa. The RMD756 deposited metal has an impact toughness of 7 J/cm
2, showing cleavage fracture, while the HX2048G deposited metal has an impact toughness of 19 J/cm
2, showing quasi-cleavage fracture. Both the deposited metals of the welding consumables are dominated by adhesive wear and oxidative wear under dry friction at 550℃.The RMD756 deposited metal has lower wear rate compared with the HX2048G deposited metal, the abrasive surface has more oxides of Cr and Al and fewer oxidation and erosion pits.
