Abstract:
Ti-0.2Pd titanium alloy prepared by adding 0.2% palladium into industrial pure titanium, has excellent corrosion resistance. But there is still crevice corrosion or pitting corrosion in its structural parts in practical application. The microstructure and corrosion resistance of the rolling surface, cross section and longitudinal section of the alloy sheet were studied. The effects of grain morphology and crystallographic orientation on the corrosion resistance were analyzed. The results show that the rolling surface with basal texture has the smallest self corrosion current density, the lowest corrosion rate, the largest capacitive arc radius, the highest polarization resistance and the best corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance of the cross section is second, followed by longitudinal section.
