Abstract:
Casting TC4 titanium alloy samples were prepared by conventional pouring and ultrasonic vibration assisted pouring respectively, and the microstructure, wear resistance and mechanical properties were tested and compared. The results show that the ultrasonic vibration assisted pouring can refine the microstructure of the sample and improve the wear resistance and mechanical properties of the sample. Compared with that of the conventional casting sample, the wear volume of the ultrasonic vibration assisted casting sample is decreased by 73.4% when the friction and wear time is 25 min, and the tensile strength and yield strength of the alloy cast by ultrasonic vibration are increased by 7.2% and 8.1%, respectively on the premise of keeping the elongation after fracture unchanged.
