Abstract:
A new composite (Cr,Mo)
2(C,N) refiner powder was synthesized by carbothermal reduction nitridation method in flowing N
2 atmosphere with Cr
2O
3, MoO
3 and carbon black as raw materials. The effects of reaction temperature, holding time and Mo content on the preparation of (Cr,Mo)
2 (C,N) refiner were studied by TG-DSC, XRD and SEM. The following conclusions are obtained: with the increase of temperature, the phase evolution follows the rule of (MoO
3,Cr
2O
3) →(Cr
2O
3, Mo
2C,Cr
3C
2)→(Cr,Mo)
2(C,N); the crystallinity of (Cr,Mo)
2(C,N) is improved and the particle size of (Cr,Mo)
2(C,N) powder is increased with prolonging holding time; with the increase of Mo content, the cell volume of (Cr,Mo)
2 (C,N) expands and the particle size decreases.
