Abstract:
Samples of 2205 dual-phase steel were heat-treated at different solution temperatures and the effects of solution temperature on the microstructure, friction and wear properties of the steel were studied. Results show that as the solution temperature increases, the morphology of the austenite phase in 2205 duplex stainless steel gradually changes from fibrous strips to short rods and islands with more uniform distribution. Additionally, the ferrite content increases with a rise in solution temperature, reaching 56.3% after solution treatment at 1160 ℃. It is also found that between 1000 ℃ and 1160 ℃,the friction coefficient curves of 2205 dual-phase steel and silicon nitride balls have similar characteristics.
