Abstract:
The effects of current density on the grain size, tensile properties, hardness and strengthening phase of 6N01 aluminum alloy were investigated. The results show that the grain refinement occurs after the pulse current treatment of 150 A/mm
2, 200 A/mm
2 and 250 A/mm
2.And the grain refinement effect is strongest when the current density is 200 A/mm
2.In addition, as the current density increases, the plasticity of 6N01 aluminum alloy gradually increases, while the strength and hardness gradually decrease. When the current density is 250 A/mm
2, the elongation of the original state increases from 12.3%to 13.6%, the yield strength decreases from 254.6 MPa to 117.3 MPa, the tensile strength decreases from 286.3 MPa to 190.9 MPa, and the hardness decreases from 87 HV to 53 HV.Both the current density and processing time have an impact on the Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC)effect, The higher the current density or the longer the processing time, the more obvious the PLC effect. The high-density pulsed current treatment can quickly dissolve the strengthening phase, and the degree of dissolution increases with the current density increasing.
