Abstract:
The microstructure and mechanical properties of TiB
2/7050 aluminum matrix composite extruded slab after solution aging(T6)heat treatment were studied by optical microscope, tensile performance test and other methods. The results show that the mechanical properties of the material are unevenly distributed after solution aging, showing a trend of low internal strength and high edges, while the elongation has no obvious change. The mechanical properties of the highest strength area at the corners and corners yield is more than the lowest strength area at the core. The yield strength and tensile strength are both about 10%higher.Analysis shows that the difference in the mechanical properties of the different regions in the material is mainly caused by the cooling rate after solid solution. If the cooling rate of the material in the core area is accelerated after solid solution, the mechanical properties of the material can be improved to a level close to that of the corners.
