Abstract:
In order to study the surface quality and friction and wear properties of chromium coating on the inner cylinder of aircraft landing gear, the morphology of the chromium coating on the inner barrel of the landing gear was observed by scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectrometer, and then the friction and wear experiments and measurements of the chromium coating were carried out by friction and wear tester, Vickers micro hardness tester and white light interferometer. The results show that the surface of the chromium plating layer on the inner barrel of landing gear is clear and smooth, and the surface is in the shape of micro streamline groove. The coating is well combined with the substrate, but there are a few micro cracks in the section of the coating. The surface roughness of chromium plating is obviously better than that of non plating. The hardness of the coating increases significantly, and the microhardness increases by 36.9% after chromium plating. The friction and wear properties of the coating significantly improves, and the wear of the non coating is 7.6 times than that of the chromium coating.
