Abstract:
The effects of cryogenic sequence on the microstructure, hardness, tensile strength, impact toughness and wear resistance of 75Cr1 alloy steel were investigated.The results show that the size of ferrite is finer and the amount of fine carbides is higher by cryogenic cooling and tempering treatment immediately after quenching than that of by tempering first and then cryogenic cooling.In addition, the mechanical properties of cryogenic cooling and primary tempering immediately after quenching are significantly better than that of other processes, with the hardness of 471.5 HV, tensile strength of 1360.5 MPa and impact toughness of 16.2 J/cm
2.The wear failure mechanism of 75Cr1 alloy steel is not changed by cryogenic sequence, which is a mixture mechanism of abrasive wear and adhesive wear.However, the wear resistance of cryogenic cooling and primary tempering treatment immediately after quenching is the best, with an average friction coefficient of 0.84 and a wear rate of 6.52×10
