Abstract:
Heat treatment experiment was carried out under two different schedules for GH4141 alloy cold-drawn bars. The grain distribution and precipitation phases morphology were observed using low magnificution and SEM. The mechanical properties such as tensile strength and rupture life were tested and compared. The results show that heat treatment schedule has an significant impact on the grain and precipitation phases morphology for GH4141 alloy cold-drawn bars. Heat treatment schedule, with high temperature solid solution and high temperature ageing leads to relatively larger grain, larger secondary γ’and more grain carbides. In addition, the tensile strength of the cold-drawn bars are relatively lower and the rupture life is significantly improved.
