Abstract:
The effects of solid solution temperature and time on the microstructure and properties of fine-grained 2A97 aluminum-lithium alloy were investigated by means of metallographic microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), hardness testing, conductivity testing, and tensile property testing. The results show that 510 ℃is the highest solid solution temperature of 2A97 alloy to keep fine-grain state, and 540 ℃is the highest solid solution temperature of the alloy without burning.90 min is chosen as the best solution time combined with artificial aging results.Under the premise, comparing the mechanical properties of alloys after solution treatment at 510 ℃or 540 ℃subsequently with natural aging, the former one obtains higher strength and hardness due to fine-grain strengthening and dislocation strengthening. Therefore, for fine-grained 2A97 alloy, the solid solution regime of 510 ℃×90 min is more recommended.
