Abstract:
The solidification structure and Fe segregation behavior of TB6 ingot by vacuum arc melting were studied by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy(XRF), scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS).The results show that the Fe content in the columnar grain zone is uniform, while in the equiaxed grain zone the content of Fe is in the range of 1.8wt%-2.5wt%, which is more prone to segregation, and the grain size of equiaxed zone is(5-10)mm×(5-10)mm.Fe segregation coefficient of TB6 is 0.38, the dendrite segregation phenomenon is obvious, the content of dendrite center is low, the content of secondary branches is high, and the content of Fe enriched between the dendrites is up to 2.85wt%.The Fe element has a significant negative radial gradient in the ingot, with high content in the center and low content at the edge. The vertical distribution of Fe element is high at the bottom and low at the head due to high current, deep molten pool and specific gravity segregation in the early smelting stage.
