Abstract:
The corrosion behavior of TWIP steels in 3.5%NaCl solution was studied by means of SEM, polarization curve and impedance measurement. The results show that the microstructure of TWIP steel is mainly austenite with a lot of twins.The corrosion resistance of TWIP980 steel is better than that of TWIP1180 steel in 3.5%NaCl solution. The corrosion tendency of TWIP1180 steel is obvious and its corrosion resistance is poor.The main reason for the poor corrosion resistance of TWIP1180 steel is that the content of Mn in TWIP1180 steel is high and the corrosion tendency is increased.The Al content of TWIP980 steel is higher than that of TWIP1180 steel. The existence of Al promotes the formation of passivation film and reduces the corrosion tendency of TWIP980 steel in 3.5%NaCl solution.
