Abstract:
In recent years, solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)has become a hot research topic in the field of new energy for its environmental friendliness and high conversion efficiency.Interconnectors are a key component of SOFC and ferritic stainless steel (FSS) is the ideal material for SOFC interconnectors owing to its superior thermal expansion coefficient (CTE) and thermal conductivity. However, during the long-term service of SOFC, FSS faces many difficulties such as high-temperature oxidation and “Cr poisoning of the cathode”, resulting in the degradation of the SOFC performance. In order to solve the problem, protective coatings are often prepared on its surface. Co-Mn spinel coating is generally considered to be the most promising FSS surface protective coating because of its outstanding comprehensive performance. The types, preparation process and properties of Co-Mn spinel coatings prepared on ferritic stainless steel surface were briefly introduced, the research advances on the elemental doping modification, etc. was mainly focused and reviewed, hoping that it can provide some new ideas and ways for the preparation of high-performance Co-Mn spinel coatings in the future.
