Abstract:
Friction stir additive manufacturing (FSAM) is a new solid phase additive process. It has high additive efficiency, a wide range of materials, fine comprehensive performance and low cost, so on. FSAM methods can be roughly divided into superimposed plate additive-manufacturing, friction stir deposition additive manufacturing and consumable friction-stir tool additive manufacturing. The basic principle of the FSAM, the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the deposit layer were introduced. Finally, the further application of friction stir additive manufacturing was presented.
