Abstract:
In order to improve the corrosion resistance of offshore oil equipment, ZrN coatings with different nitrogen partial pressures were prepared on 304 stainless steel substrate by multi-arc ion plating. The microstructure and crystal structure of ZrN coating were analyzed by scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. The influence mechanism of crystal texture of ZrN coating on corrosion resistance was discussed by electrochemical testing methods. The results show that with the increase of nitrogen partial pressure, there is no significant difference in the surface morphology of ZrN coatings. The cross sections are dense columnar structures, and the crystal orientation evolves from (111) to (200). The coating with (200) orientation has the best corrosion resistance, the lowest coating capacitance is 7.62 μF·cm
-2, and the protection efficiency is as high as 89.72%, which is attributed to the higher passivation tendency and the stability of the passivation film.
