Abstract:
Bearing steels are mainly used to make balls, rollers and bearing rings. Bearing steels need to have high hardness, high wear resistance, low elastic modulus, good corrosion resistance and fatigue life. The inclusions and composition segregation in bearing steels have a significant impact on the fatigue life of products. The classification of bearing steels, the action of alloying elements were introduced, the influencing factors of solidification structure of bearing steels were summarized, and the relationship between deoxidizer and inclusion type and distribution was analyzed. The technical means to reduce segregation, and the role of rare earth in bearing steels were discussed, and the development direction of metallurgical quality control of bearing steels in China was pointed out.
