Abstract:
Q235 is the material currently used for connecting fittings, and the problems of bulky products, atmospheric corrosion, and magnetic loss need to be addressed. Al-Si, Al-Cu and Al-Mg system alloys were used to prepare bowl head hanging plate samples, and their microstructure and mechanical properties were studied. The feasibility of replacing traditional carbon steel fittings was analyzed. The results show that the three types of aluminum alloy fittings have smooth surfaces, no internal defects, a density reduction of over 65%, and a conductivity of 23.6-29.0 MS/m. They have the advantages of good conductivity, corrosion resistance, lightweight, and no magnetic loss. In terms of mechanical properties, compared with Q235,the strength, hardness, yield strength, elongation at break, and impact toughness of Al-Si and Al-Mg alloys are significantly reduced, making them only suitable for connecting fittings with lower load-bearing requirements. The microstructure of Al-Cu alloy is composed of equiaxed grains of α(Al) solid solution and a large amount of dispersed Al
2Cu phase. Its tensile strength and maximum failure load exceed those of Q235 fittings, and it has the potential to be used for upgrading products with high load-bearing requirements.
