Abstract:
Cold spray technology is used in a wide range of applications, and with the advancement of technology, the scope and depth of its application are constantly expanding. In order to ensure the quality and mechanical properties of cold-sprayed parts, it is the most direct way to observe and analyze the bonding state between cold-sprayed metal particles, but the deformation of metal particles occurs for a relatively short time, and detailed experimental analysis is usually carried out by observing the cross-section of particles in the deposition state with a microscope. In order to study the dynamics of cold spray technology in more details, the numerical simulation provides an effective alternative. Six different simulation methods were reviewed, and the advantages, disadvantages and applicability of various simulation methods were analyzed, among which the results of finite element simulation were greatly affected by meshing, the mesh description was cumbersome and easy to produce distortion, and the SPH and MD methods effectively avoid the mesh distortion.
