Effect of Pulsed Magnetic Field on Structure and Crystallization Kinetics of Iron-based Amorphous Alloys

    • The effects of magnetic pulse treatment on the amorphous structure and crystallization kinetics of Fe64Ni1Al4.5Cu0.5Ga2P9.65B9.6Si3C5.75 are studied by XRD and DSC.The XRD results show that the peak shape of the amorphous sample treated by pulsed magnetic field is more undulated than that of the as-quenched sample, and the atomic clusters are formed inside the sample. However,it remains amorphous structure. The DSC results show the Tx and Tp of the sample treated by pulsed magnetic field are lower than that of the quenched sample. With the increase of the number of pulses, they are all decreased. In addition, the crystallization activation energy of the sample is calculated by the Ozawa method, and it is shown that the pulse magnetic field treatment is beneficial to the enhancement of the amorphous stability. The mx and mp in the crystallization process of each group of samples are calculated by the JMA model. The results show that with the increase of the number of pulses, they both show an increasing trend, indicating that the pulsed magnetic field treatment can increase the rate of crystallization reaction.
