Process Optimization of Low-Pressure Die Casting of Aluminum Alloy Reduction Gears Shell Based on Orthogonal Test

    • The numerical simulation method was used to analyze the low-pressure die casting process of aluminum alloy worm wheel reduction gears shell, and the possible shrinkage cavity and porosity and their position distribution in the shell were predicted, and the reasons for their formation were analyzed. On this basis, by improving the cooling scheme and optimizing process parameters based on orthogonal experiments, a multi-objective optimization was carried out. The optimal process parameters are: pouring temperature of 740℃, die preheating temperature of 240℃, cooling water temperature of 20℃.The results show that the optimized shell has no shrinkage porosity defects. The feasibility of the optimization process is verified by production trial and metallographic analysis.
