Review on Laser Cladding Visual Monitoring and Molten Pool Image Processing

Laser cladding is an additive manufacturing technology which manufactures or repairs metal parts through powder melting deposition, and is one of the important means of part repair.The real-time monitoring and closed-loop control of molten pool morphology is one of the current research hotspots. The status quo of real-time monitoring and closed-loop control of molten pool morphology was summarized, the processing of molten pool images and the extraction of molten pool information were reviewed and analyzed, and the further development trend of melt pool morphology monitoring was proposed.
