Research on Residual Stress in Welding of Annular Support of Oil Pipe Based on Finite Element Method

    • A finite element analysis of the residual welding stresses in the annular support structure of the oil pipe inside the adjustable pitch blade shaft was conducted. A finite element model of the annular support oil pipe welding was established, utilizing a four-ellipsoid heat source model and the birth-and-death element technique to simulate the thermal input during welding. The finite element model was validated by comparing the simulation results of the welding stress field with experimental test data. The investigation focuses on examining the impact of welding-related parameters(such as welding sequence and welding speed) on the residual welding stresses. The results indicate that the maximum equivalent residual stresses of the welding of the oil pipe inside the shaft are predominantly distributed near the oil pipe at the ends of the support strips. The investigation on welding factors reveals that under different welding sequences, a better-quality joint can be achieved when welding is performed in pairs. Additionally, by ensuring adequate filler material and weld appearance, the welding speed can be increased appropriately to maintain welding quality.
